Kristi Kay Perrotto
After courageously battling breast cancer for more than 10 years, Kristi Perrotto was called home to the Lord on Thursday, May 9. She was born April 12, 1967 in Sidney, Nebraska to Ken and Myra Noteboom.
Every once in a while you meet someone in life who is very special. Not only do they touch your life, but everyone they come in contact with is forever changed by the love and kindness that they give so freely. Kristi was that type of person.
Whether with the patients she worked with at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center as the Cancer Outreach Coordinator, a teacher at her children’s school, a friend or family member, Kristi meant so much to so many. Throughout her battle with cancer, she inspired so many by her faith and courage. The memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and were loved by her.
Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14 at First Free Church, 3280 South 84th Street, Lincoln, Nebrask…

May 2013 Meeting Summary

Thank you to Carol and Sharon for joining me over your lunch today.  Our next lunch meeting is June 12.
We opened with a discussion of the book club selection My Own Country by Abraham Verghese.
To answer a question raised during our meeting, Dr. Verghese is divorced from his first wife, his wife during the time period covered in My Own Country, and a second marriage also ended in divorce.  He has three sons, two from his first marriage and one from his second marriage.
We also discussed:
--A Sandhills Ballad by Ladette Randolph  (Thanks to Jean for passing along the recommendation.)
--The Water and the Blood and These is My Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901 by Nancy E. Turner
--Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption and Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand
--Using the Lincoln City Libraries to borrow ebooks.
Please feel free to add to the discussion, whether or not you attended the book club meeting.
