I'll always associate Umberto Eco with library school and a particular class that spent more than a little time on The Name of the Rose.

Free Library in Daraya

In Daraya (suburban Damascus, Syria), rebel fighters created and maintain a free library of 15,000 books, according to BuzzFeed News.

OPL Author Fair

Omaha Public Library's 5th Annual Author Fair, which includes the chance to interact with more than 75 local authors and publishers, buy books, and access resources for writers, is coming later this month.  There is no charge to attend.
